Bill Rucker, president of Trustwave Government Solutions, has said government agencies seeking to protect their critical assets and sensitive data from cyber attacks should work with managed security services providers.
Rucker wrote how managed security services could help agencies ensure the security of their infrastructure amid the cyber talent shortage and evolving cyber threat landscape.
He said agencies should look for managed security services firms that could provide cybersecurity expertise with a local focus on the mission, applications and environment of an individual agency as well as meet evolving security requirements.
When you couple that local focus with near-real-time threat intelligence, agencies achieve a level of visibility into their networks that they never had before, Rucker added.
He also called on agencies to take a proactive approach to security so that we can identify potential incidents before the light turns red.
