Digital services provider Tria Federal has won a five-year, $174 million recompete contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide expanded software engineering and development support services for VA’s Financial Services Center, or FSC.
Tria said Thursday VA received offers from 15 vendors through a full and open competition and awarded the follow-on contract to the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Softrams.
In November 2024, Sage Capital-backed Tria acquired technology firm Softrams to better support the critical missions of federal health and public safety agencies.
Tria Federal CEO Tim Borchert said the company is excited to deepen its partnership with VA and FSC through the contract, which covers software development life cycle tasks to build and support applications and related systems.
“Tria’s work will help make VA financial operations run smoother and faster, so veterans can get the care and benefits they need without unnecessary delays. By using automation and AI, we’re also cutting down on manual work and reducing errors, which improves the quality of service that veterans receive,” Borchert added.
Tria-FSC Partnership to Drive CRM Implementation
In the last five years, Tria has worked with FSC to implement a customer relationship management system to help the VA center rapidly detect issues, improve processes and understand customer needs. The CRM platform includes a new portal meant to provide VA medical providers and vendors with self-service access to medical claim, invoice and payment status.
According to Tria, the CRM implementation has helped FSC speed up registration and invoice processing and achieve a 70 percent increase in annual invoice volume.
The use of robotic process automation has enabled the VA center to improve the accuracy and timeliness of payment processing while saving over 14,800 work hours.
