The Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability multiple-award agreement comprises four contracts amounting to a total of $9 billion. AWS was tasked to be a prime cloud provider of enterprise-wide, globally available services across all security domains and classification levels within the DoD.
Added to that, the selected contractors will perform task orders that enable agencies and businesses to lower costs and enable remotely operated infrastructure technology capable of withstanding service disruptions caused by outages.

Amazon Web Services Landed the Commercial Cloud Environment Contract from the U.S. Navy

Under the BPA, Amazon Web Services will provide the Navy access to its commercial cloud environment and applications, such as AWS Professional Services, AWS GovCloud (US), AWS Secret Region, and AWS training and certification courses. The contract’s performance and order period will run until 2028.
Liz Martin, Director of Defense at AWS, underscored that this agreement strengthens the alliance between the Department of Navy (DoN) and the cloud computing company. She added that the elasticity and flexibility of AWS’s cloud enable Navy developers to collaborate effectively and deliver capabilities that connect ships, weapons, and sensors across the battlefield within days instead of weeks.
Amazon Web Services was Awarded the Single-Source Contract to Deliver Classified and Unclassified Cloud Services
