A Textron (NYSE: TXT) subsidiary has received a $92.54 million contract from the U.S. Army for the production of a transceiver and antenna system designed to provide warfighters with full-motion video, images and geospatial data for situational awareness.
Hunt Valley, Maryland-based Textron Systems will work on the One System Remote Video Terminal and provide related logistics services for an estimated period ending on Feb. 7, 2024, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Each terminal features a tablet, transceiver and a tri-band antenna for transforming telemetry data from manned and unmanned platforms into situation awareness information for soldiers on the ground.
The Army will determine the location of and funding for Textron’s work upon each order awarded on the cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract.
Only Textron submitted a bid for the logistics contract.
To date, the Army has deployed more than 3,240 OSRVTs to field units.
