Taiwan is seeking recertification of Lockheed Martin-built (NYSE: LMT) Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missile systems through an approximately $620M foreign military sales agreement approved by the State Department.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office requested for contractor services to replace PAC-3 limited life components that are nearing expiration and perform certification tests with the goal of ensuring the system's three-decade operational life, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.
The proposed sale also includes stockpile reliability testing, repair of classified and unclassified missile items, spares replenishment, air transportation, logistics and technical services.
DSCA noted the agreement will not require deployment of additional U.S. government or contracting personnel to Taiwan.
