The State Department has approved Iraq’s request to acquire sustainment and logistics services and spare parts for its fleet of AC-208 aircraft under a $181 million foreign military sales agreement with the U.S.
The U.S. aims to help Iraq’s air force continue support of the international military campaign against the Islamic state group, the Defense Security Cooperation Agencysaid Tuesday.
Iraq sought a five-year sustainment package that includes operational, intermediate and depot-level maintenance, spare parts, component repair, publication updates, maintenance training and logistics support for the aircraft.
