The State Department has approved a potential $270 million foreign military sales deal covering sustainment equipment and services for Greece’s F-16 fighter aircraft fleet.
Greece asked to procure U.S. government and contractor support services associated with the Hellenic air force’s F-16 aircraft structural integrity, Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night, reconnaissance pod and aircraft training device programs.
The proposed transaction also covers hardware and software updates, technical documents and other forms of programmatic and maintenance support.
DSCA added the sale would help Greece maintain the aircraft’s Joint Mission Planning Software and Multifunctional Information Distribution System and its role in the Electronic Combat International Security Assistance Program.
