Space Systems Loral has been awarded a potential five-year, $127 million firm-fixed-price contract to support the development, deployment and operation of a robotic space vehicle for NASA’s in-orbit satellite servicing mission.
SSL will provide spacecraft bus, critical hardware and associated services for the Restore-L refueling mission under the contract, NASA said Tuesday.
The agency aims to launch Restore-L sometime in 2020 to service an operational government space asset currently in low-Earth orbit.
The satellite servicing projects division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center manages the project for the space agency’s space technology mission directorate.
The contract has a three-year base period and a two-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity option.
