SpaceX Receives USSF Task Orders for Non-Nat’l Security Space Mission Support

SpaceX has received task orders worth $29M combined from the U.S. Space Force to perform fleet surveillance work and early integration studies on non-national security space operations.

USSF's Space and Missile Systems Center awarded the firm-fixed-price orders under the National Security Space Launch Phase 2 contract and will obligate the full amount at the time of award, the Department of Defense said Monday.

Work will take place at a company facility in Hawthorne, California, and at Vandenberg Air Force Base and Florida's Cape Canaveral AF Station through Aug. 19, 2021.

Inside Defense reported Wednesday the company will help USSF examine spacecraft-launch vehicle compatibility and prevent crossover between SpaceX missions.
