Solid State Scientific Corp. has been awarded a $59M contract to design and build a virtual private cloud platform for a U.S. Air Force component that provides weather data to the warfighter.
SSSC will help the Air Force Weather Enterprise manage AFW applications in the cloud through product-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service models, the Department of Defense said Monday.
The sole-source award follows a Small Business Innovative Research Phase III project and includes two one-year option periods. Contract work is scheduled to initially conclude by May 9, 2020.
USAF will obligate $777,351 at the time of award from its fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance funds.
