Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) Sikorsky subsidiary has been awarded a one-year, $155.2 million contract modification by the U.S. Navy to obtain long-lead materials in preparation for lot 6 production of CH-53K King Stallion helicopters.
The award is for parts and components needed to manufacture nine CH-53K aircraft, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Sikorsky received a $125.4 million contract in March 2020 for lot 5 King Stallion long-lead materials.
The CH-53K heavy-lift cargo helicopter is designed to transport U.S. Marine Corps personnel and equipment from a naval ship to the shore or a high terrain area.
