Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) has secured a potential five-year, $60M contract to support the modernization of mission-critical information technology systems at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
SAIC said Monday it will help USPTO update applications and implement processes intended to address the agency’s technical challenges.
Contract work will occur primarily in Alexandria, Va., with some tasks offered in remote areas within the continental U.S.
œWe are pleased to help the Patent and Trademark Office lay the foundation for IT modernization, which will allow them to focus their time and resources on supporting and protecting the ingenuity of American inventors and entrepreneurs, said Bob Genter, executive vice president and general manager at SAIC’s civilian markets customer group.
Genter added the company will work to reduce downtime and vulnerabilities in the agency’s systems.
