Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) will engineer software for the U.S. Air Force’s B-52H Stratofortress bomber platform under a sole-source award valued at $19 million over five years.
The service is using fiscal 2023 operations and maintenance funds to cover the initial obligated amount of $3.65 million on the firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursable contract, the Department of Defense said Monday.
SAIC will perform software engineering work in Oklahoma City and DOD said the project has a completion date of July 10, 2028.
The B-52H is designed to soar up to 50,000 feet at a high subsonic speed and carry precision guided conventional standoff weapon systems.
