Saab Wins Potential $128M Contract to Provide USMC Live Training Systems

Saab Inc., the Swedish aerospace and defense contractor’s U.S. subsidiary, has won a potential $127.9 million contract to provide instrumentation systems to the U.S. Marine Corps for tactical engagement training use.

The company said Thursday it will replace the military branch’s instrumented and tactical engagement simulation system with live training equipment under the Force on Force Training Systems-Next program.

Increment 1 of FoFTS-Next will consist of command-and-control and network platforms intended to support data transmission, processing and display, according to a Department of Defense notice.

Marine Corps Systems Command awarded the contract via a competitive procedure and obligated $53.8 million at the time of award.

DOD said the award includes 68 option line items for logistics, training and maintenance support work at USMC facilities worldwide.
