The State Department has cleared a potential $175.4M foreign military sales deal covering support services to modernize Romania’s fleet of Lockheed Martin-built (NYSE: LMT) fighter jets.
The proposed agreement calls for the modernization of avionics, communication, navigational aids and cockpit systems for the Romanian Block 15 F-16 midlife update initiative, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday.
Other items under the proposed sale include eight LN-260 GPS and 19 Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio Systems.
DSCA added that U.S. government and contractor personnel would also provide logistical support to the FMS client as part of the transaction.
