Rheinmetall Partners With Textron Systems, Raytheon Technologies to Pursue Army OMFV Combat Vehicle Program

A U.S.-based subsidiary of Rheinmetall’s defense segment has partnered with Textron Systems, Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) and other U.S. defense companies to form an industry team to compete for the U.S. Army’s Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle program.

American Rheinmetall Vehicles will lead Team Lynx to propose a new variant of the Lynx KF41 vehicle with a modular open systems architecture, Rheinmetall said Tuesday.

“Textron Systems brings decades of experience in production with robotic capabilities that further enable our growing Team Lynx to provide a transformational product to the US Army,” said Matt Warnick, managing director at American Rheinmetall Vehicles.

The Army announced in January its plans to revise the requirements and launch a new solicitation for the OMFV program, which seeks to replace the service’s Bradley combat vehicles.
