A Red Hat operating system offering has earned recertification that validates the platform’s capacity to process sensitive information in line with National Institute of Standards and Technology requirements.
Red Hat said Tuesday it renewed Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 cryptography certification for the Enterprise Linux 7.6 software built to support agencies and organizations in government-regulated industries.
Paul Smith, senior vice president and general manager of the North American public sector business at Red Hat and a 2019 Wash100 winner, said the recertification highlights the firm™s commitment to producing open hybrid cloud offerings for Linux in accordance with recognized security standards.
Atsec assessed the platform at the Cryptographic and Security Testing Laboratory in Austin, Texas.
Red Hat secured an FIPS 140-2 authorization in November and noted the company holds over 20 certifications under the government’s security validation program.
