Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has received a potential five-year, $88.4M contract to update the sensors of the U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 fighter jets and EA-18G electronic attack planes.
The company will incorporate tactical features into the aircraft sensor system and investigate hardware and software anomalies under the cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Monday.
DoD added the company will design, develop, document, integrate, test and evaluate systems and associated equipment.
Contract work will occur in El Segundo, Calif., and is expected to conclude in February 2024.
The Navy will obligate $1.4M in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
