The U.S. Navy has awarded a Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) business unit a $207.9 million foreign military sale contract to manufacture Stinger FIM-92H and FIM-92F Block 1 missiles and associated equipment for three international customers.
Raytheon Missile Systems will also deliver captive flight trainers, other training devices and related spares and components to Qatar, India and Italy under the firm-fixed-price contract, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
The company will perform work in Tucson, Arizona, through April 30, 2020.
The Army Contracting Command received one bid for the contract and appropriated the full contract amount from the Navy’s fiscal 2017 “other funds” at the time of award.
Stinger is an air defense system that can be launched by ground troops as well as from Apache helicopters for air-to-air engagements.
