Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has won a potential five-year, $279.3M contract to design a sensor network with fire-control technology under the U.S. Navy’s Cooperative Engagement Capability program.
CEC will be designed to help the military service coordinate measurement data from sensors during strike force air search missions and facilitate battle force situational awareness, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
The contract has a $15.3M initial value, with the base performance period slated to occur through September 2022. Work could extend through April 2024 if the Navy exercises all options.
Naval Sea Systems Command received one bid for the project and will obligate $8M in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
