Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has secured a potential 12-year, $611.5M contract from the U.S. Air Force to produce electronic digital telecommunication systems intended for military command-and-control use.
The company will provide C2 switching systems to function as a Defense Red Switch Network component designed to help users manage voice and data communications, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
DOD noted the Defense Intelligence Agency has authorized the technology to process top-secret and sensitive compartmented information at multiple security levels.
Under the sole-source contract, Raytheon Technologies will also manage product configuration, data, spare parts and quality assurance and control.
Work will also include engineering, technical and hardware and software support services. The company will perform services at various government facilities and will receive $452,034 at the time of award.
The Defense Red Switch Network is intended to help authorized DOD users conduct voice telecommunication and conferencing.
