Under the contract, the Chesapeake, Virginia-headquartered maritime services provider will install, modify and upgrade various systems on naval vessels. The systems include the Tomahawk weapons system, Mk 160-gun computer system, Mk 20 electro-optical sensor system, Over the Horizon weapons system, littoral combat ship command and control, and Dorna fire control system.
Work will be conducted at various sites across the United States, including in Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, and Japan, with an expected completion date of February 2030.
The Navy selected Prism Maritime out of four offers received through a competitive procurement process. The Navy Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division serves as the contracting activity.
The defense company is a long-time partner of the Navy. In 2023, Prism Maritime won a $250.8 million contract to install and modernize combat systems for the Navy, the Coast Guard and foreign military sales customers.
