United Technologies Corp.‘s (NYSE: UTX) Pratt & Whitney subsidiary has received a one-year, $399.8M contract modification from Naval Air Systems Command to provide sustainment services for the F-35 aircraft propulsion technology.
Pratt & Whitney’s military engines division will continue to sustain F135 propulsion systems for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force,non-Defense Department entities and foreign military sales customers, DoD said Friday.
The modification also includes maintenance of F135s and related equipment, repairs, common replenishment spares and other services to support the system’s take-off and landing functions.
Work will take place at various U.S. locations and Camari, Italy, through November 2019.
NAVAIR will obligate the full amount of the modification at the time of award and about $277.6M of the obligated amount will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
