United Technologies‘ (NYSE: UTX) Pratt & Whitney subsidiary has received a $353.2 million modification under a U.S. Navy contract for logistics sustainment work on propulsion systems designed to power the Lockheed Martin-built F-35 aircraft.
Pratt & Whitney will support F-135 propulsion systems for F-35 jets of the Navy, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Marine Corps, non-Defense Department parties and foreign military sales customers, DoD said Thursday.
The modification covers the provision of support equipment, common program efforts, base recurring sustainment, repair, common replenishment spares, field service representatives and common replenishment spares.
DoD added Pratt & Whitney will also perform F-135 unique maintenance services for the fighter aircraft’s conventional takeoff and landing as well as short takeoff and landing variants.
Work will occur in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah and Italy through November 2018.
The Navy obligated $306.5 million in fiscal 2018 funds at the time of award.
