The Department of Defense has released the implementation plan for the Joint All-Domain Command and Control concept that aims to help the Joint Force facilitate information sharing and decision making through a warfighting network that will use artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation and predictive analytics.
“Command and Control in an increasingly information-focused warfighting environment have never been more critical. JADC2 will enable the DoD to act at the speed of relevance to improve U.S. national security,” said Kathleen Hicks, deputy secretary of defense and a 2022 Wash100 Award winner.
“JADC2 is delivering capabilities beginning now, and it will continue to be funded in the coming years,” added Hicks.
The JADC2 implementation plan outlines the actions, resourcing requirements and milestones; drives DOD’s investment to address operational gaps, speed up the decision cycle and enhance the resiliency of C2 platforms; and identifies the organizations that will oversee the delivery of JADC2 capabilities.
The classified document also outlines ways to integrate nuclear C2 and conventional procedures and processes and improve data sharing and interoperability with the department’s mission partners.
The JADC2 cross-functional team will lead the execution of the implementation plan and the JADC2 strategy that was first announced in June 2021.
