Rick Howard, chief security officer at Palo Alto Networks (NYSE: PANW), has said government agencies with several cybersecurity tools should adopt the œautomatic orchestration approach that works to consolidate and manage all those tools through a common platform.
Howard wrote that such a platform works to help agencies gain visibility into endpoint devices, cloud deployments and data centers.
œIt also reduces the attack surface, prevents all known adversary attacks, discovers new ones quickly and converts them into known attacks so we can prevent them, he added.
He also cited that firewall vendors have transitioned enforcement and processing work to the cloud in order to leverage the cloud™s storage space and processing capability.
Howard called on agencies to develop plans to safeguard cloud-based data from security vulnerabilities amid the adoption of cloud platforms with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certifications.
He also mentioned Palo Alto Networks™ efforts to encourage women to pursue careers in the cybersecurity field through partnership with the Girl Scouts organization.
