Out of the Fog Research and Hypres have received separate contracts from the U.S. Navy to help the military branch research, develop, evaluate and implement cryogenic radio frequency systems.
The Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday the military branch awarded $91.4 million to Out of the Fog Research and $67.7 million to Hypres to build cryogenic RF and core digital and quantum memory technologies.
Both companies aim to exploit superconducting quantum interference device, tactical signals intelligence systems, and other military platforms under the project.
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command received three offers for the project through a competitive solicitation process via the FedBizOpps and the Navy’s e-commerce website.
SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific will obligate research, development, test and evaluation funds as individual task orders are issued for work to carried out in San Diego, Mountain View and New York through July 12, 2019.
