Oshkosh (NYSE: OSK) has reported delivery orders worth $346.4M combined to perform recapitalization work on ground tactical vehicles for the U.S. Army and its Reserve component.
The company said Monday its defense segment will modernize the branch’s Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks and truck-based Palletized Load Systems as well as build new PLS trailers.
HEMTT and PLS vehicles will be equipped with modern systems as part of the recapitalization project and will return to the field with the same estimated life cycle cost and warranty of a new vehicle, Oshkosh noted.
“As the military pivots its focus to near-peer adversaries, they can be confident that the FHTV fleet will continue to serve as a key enabler for combat missions,” said Pat Williams, vice president and general manager of Army and Marine Corps programs at Oshkosh Defense.
The FHTV platform is built to incorporate multiple mission packages.
According to Oshkosh, it has modernized more than 3,400 PLS vehicles and 13,700 HEMTTs over the past 25 years.
