Northrop Grumman(NYSE: NOC) has secured a potential five-year, $265 million contract to continue to maintain an airborne gateway platform the U.S. Air Force uses to translate and distribute voice communications and battlespace data from multiple sources.
The company said Tuesday it will provide maintenance and logistics services for the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node system that supports the military branch’s E-11A aircraft operations.
Northrop’s current BACN support contract is set to expire January 2018 and its follow-on contract has one base year along with four option years.
The company will work to identify subcontractor support and determine levels of aircraft repair as well as examine tooling requirements, ground support equipment and repair times.
