Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received a six-year, $375.8M delivery order to provide maritime surveillance radars for the U.S. Navy’s MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft systems.
The Defense Logistics Agency placed the order against a basic ordering agreement through a sole-source acquisition procedure, the Department of Defense said Monday.
Contract work will take place in California through Dec. 31, 2025.
MFAS active electronically scanned array radars are designed to provide a 360-degree coverage of littoral regions and open oceans to detect maritime targets.
The system employs a rotating sensor with an electronic scanning feature and functions on a maritime-surface-search or an inverse-synthetic-aperture radar mode.
Triton is built to perform maritime operations independently or in conjunction with fleet assets.
