Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received a potential $130.5 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to obtain long lead materials for Japan’s future Global Hawk unmanned aerial systems.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday the materials are needed to commence the production of three Block 30 Global Hawk vehicles, two ground control elements, an integrated sensor suite, spares and a site survey.
DoD noted the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate $64.9 million in foreign military sales funds at the time of award.
Northrop’s aerospace systems unit will perform work in San Diego, California, through July 27, 2018.
