Northrop Books $158M Contract to Support South Korea's RQ-4 UAS Sustainment, Logistics Operations

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) a $158.4M undefinitized contract to help sustain RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft systems for the South Korean government.

Northrop will provide contractor logistics services and RQ-4 spares as part of the sole-sourced award, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate $33.8M in foreign military sales funds to the Republic of Korea at the time of award.

Contract work will take place in South Korea and Sierra Vista, Arizona, through Feb. 29, 2024.

The RQ-4 UAS has a capacity of more than 30 hours and is designed to gather imagery in real-time and in all weather conditions for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations. The unmanned platform has been deployed for Air Force missions since 2001.
