Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has been awarded a potential $812 million contract by the U.S. Navy to manufacture gun mission modules for the service branch’s Littoral Combat Ships.
The company will also support basic outfitting assembly installation, engineering, sustainment and interim depot-level maintenance of LCS gun mission modules, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
The contract has an initial value of $68.8 million and the Navy will obligate $23 million at the time of award from the branch’s fiscal 2016 and 2017 “other” procurement; fiscal 2017 research, development, testing, and evaluation; and fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance appropriation account funds.
Northrop will perform work at various locations in Virginia, Alabama, New York, California, Florida, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.
