The U.S. Navy has awarded $383 million in contract modifications to subsidiaries ofBAE Systems, General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) for maintenance, repair and upgrade services for San Diego-homeported amphibious ships.
BAE’s San Diego Ship Repair arm, General Dynamics’ NASSCO subsidiary and HII’s Continental Maritime of San Diego unit will also provide support for the Chief of Naval Operations availabilities of amphibious ships in San Diego, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
All three businesses also received modifications worth a combined $120.5 million on Feb. 27 to help the Navy maintain, repair or modernize San Diego-homeported surface combatants.
Both modifications fall under previously awarded multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts and work is scheduled to run through March 2018.
