Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) has purchased Allen, Texas-based mobile video security company WatchGuard for an undisclosed amount in a move to expand offerings for the public safety sector.
WatchGuard produces security tools for integration with body cameras, in-car video surveillance and other evidence management systems and platforms, Motorola said Thursday.
John Kedzierski, senior vice president of video security solutions at Motorola, said WatchGuards recording technology can work to help public safety customers manage operational efficiency.
Motorolas video security suite includes Avigilons analytics and fixed camera products as well as Vigilant Solutions license plate recognition technology.
