Mitre has appointed five former U.S. defense officials to the advisory board of the nonprofit’s Center for Technology and National Security, which conducts research and analysis of future warfare operations and emerging technologies.
The newly formed board provides educational programs, events and publications to help inform the decision-making of leaders in the defense and intelligence sectors, Mitre said Monday.
CTNS advisers include John Campbell, a retired U.S. Army general and the service branch’s former vice chief of staff; Lisa Disbrow, former U.S. Air Force undersecretary; and William Gortney, former commander of U.S. Northern Command and retired U.S. Navy admiral.
Bob Murrett, former director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and former Defense Deputy Secretary Bob Work also serve on the center’s advisory board.
William LaPlante, senior vice president of Mitre’s national security sector, said CTNS is committed to helping the defense and intelligence communities confront adversarial threats and challenging environments.
The center recently published papers on initiatives to develop a multidomain warfare command architecture and accelerate 5G innovation.
