Herndon, Virginia-based military and intelligence services contractorMission Essential has purchased systems integration and software engineering company Information Management Technology Corp. for an undisclosed sum to grow communications-related work with the Defense Department.
Mission Essential said Thursday that IMT will operate as a subsidiary under the new ownership and also add technical support and sustainment service offerings to the acquiring company.
“After thoroughly analyzing the marketplace, it was clear that IMT would be a great value-add to the Mission Essential family as the spearhead for our C4ISR capabilities, ” Mission Essential Chairman Greg Miller said.
Fairfax, Virginia-based IMT is the lead technical support and sustainment provider for DoD’s Integrated Broadcast Service Enterprise, a global communications network that works to connect joint service and allied military operators and decision makers.
The network works to relay tactical and targeting data, intelligence information and warnings of potential threats.
IMT Founder and President Rob Kelly will continue to lead the company for Mission Essential.
KippsDeSanto & Co. and Holland & Knight LLP represented IMT in the transaction, while Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and Arena Strategic Advisors LLC advised Mission Essential.
