Mission Critical Partners has purchased Black & Veatch’s public safety consulting business in a move to expand MCP's emergency communications technology portfolio and geographic footprint.
MCP said Tuesday it seeks to advance design and deployment of public safety radio and wireless broadband systems as well as expand into adjacent markets such as the education, smart community and transportation sectors through the acquisition.
Black & Veatch established its public safety business upon the purchase of RCC Consultants in 2015. The unit operated under the Overland Park, Kan.-based engineering firm’s connected communities subsidiary.
“Mission-critical communications systems are becoming more integrated and interconnected, and clients need added support managing this complexity,” said Kevin Murray, co-founder, chairman and CEO of MCP.
He added that MCP works to help customers manage emergency response missions with the use of technology.
