Parsons Promotes Michael Hamer to SVP, Program Director

Parsons has appointed Michael Hamer, a Department of Defense acquisition and engineering professional, as senior vice president and program director for systems engineering and integration.

Hamer announced his new position at the Chantilly, Virginia-based defense technology and infrastructure engineering company in a LinkedIn post published Monday.

He brings extensive experience in missile defense systems and radar engineering to the role. He has managed complex defense projects and integrated advanced technologies into military platforms.

Who Is Michael Hamer?

Hamer most recently served as VP and contract program manager for BMD systems engineering at Parsons.

Before joining Parsons in 2018, he was a missile defense systems engineer at MITRE.

He spent more than a decade at Computer Sciences Corp., where he served as a systems engineer. 

The California State University-Sacramento graduate started his career as a program analyst at ARIST Corp., where he supported the BMDO Planning and Control Directorate.

Hamer has a master’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of California, San Diego.
