Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won two contracts worth a combined $103.4 million to support the Missile Defense Agency‘s efforts to reduce risk for missile technologies.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday Lockheed’s space systems business will help MDA optimize performance and address risk for a gimbaled seeker assembly, integrated avionics assembly, advanced seeker and component integration and testing under a $53 million contract as part of MDA’s Multi-Object Kill Vehicle Technology project.
The unit will also help the agency lessen risk for ballistic missile defense interceptor divert and attitude control systems under a separate $50.3 million contract, DoD noted.
Work under the contracts will occur in California and Maryland.
MDA competitively procured both contracts through the FedBizOpps website and will obligate a total of $25.4 million at the time of award from fiscal 2016 and 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
