What Is the Scope of the Grand Portage LPOE Design-Build Contract?
According to the award notice published on SAM.gov, the firm-fixed-price contract, awarded on Oct. 29, is valued at approximately $106.2 million. The award falls under the GSA’s Design Excellence initiative, which aims to modernize federal buildings while sustaining historical architecture.
The Saint Paul, Minnesota-based construction firm will provide design-build services for a new Land Port of Entry, or LPOE, near Grand Portage, Minnesota. The port, located next to the current facility on the Grand Portage Indian Reservation, is intended to strengthen border security and boost international trade by expanding lane capacity, including a wider commercial truck lane, and accelerating Customs and Border Protection processing operations.
