Maximus Wins $960M in UK Employment Program Support Contracts; Bruce Caswell Quoted

The U.K. subsidiary of Maximus (NYSE: MMS) has won a pair of contracts worth more than $960 million combined to help the British government provide local employment assistance to citizens who are looking for jobs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maximus said Monday it will collaborate with public and private sector organizations to create recruitment, skills development and adult education services for job seekers as part of the U.K.’s Restart program.

The government services provider and its partners will offer community-based support for unemployed residents in South and East London, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South and West Yorkshire.

Both contracts have four base years, plus a two-year option period, and fall under the U.K. government’s Commercial Agreement for the Provision of Employment and Health Related Services framework.

Bruce Caswell, president and CEO of Maximus and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, said the company aims to help government customers address the economic impacts of the pandemic on their countries and citizens.

The Reston, Virginia-based contractor plans to invest $13 million in community partnership networks and recruit more than 1,500 people to support Restart program implementation in regions covered by the contract awards.
