Logistics Health and Medical Support Los Angeles: A Medical Corporation have won spots on a potential $6.8 billion contract vehicle to update the Department of Veterans Affairs‘ system for processing medical exam reports on former military personnel who seek disability claims benefits.
VA reopened the competition for Medical Disability Examination Program support services after a series of protests to the department’s original award of three contract positions in late March.
The department said Friday five healthcare companies were awarded a total of 12 contracts under the vehicle that has a one-year base period of performance and and up to four option years.
The program, managed by VA’s Strategic Acquisition Center in Maryland, aims to reduce long wait times for medical evaluation of veterans for service-connected benefits as part of MyVA initiative.
