Dana “Keoki” Jackson, a more than 23-year veteran of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), has joined Mitre as senior vice president and general manager of the nonprofit corporation’s national security sector.
He will be responsible for expanding and implementing national security programs that support the departments of Defense and Justice as well as the intelligence community, Mitre said Monday.
Jackson most recently served as vice president of supply chain and program performance at Lockheed and previously held other senior leadership roles such as chief engineer and chief technology officer, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He is credited for establishing programs under a Lockheed-Stanford University partnership that helped students gain experience in CubeSat or hybrid rocket development.
Jason Providakes, president and CEO of Mitre and two-time Wash100 Award recipient, said Jackson brings leadership experience in large-scale defense programs as the organization aims to create an impact on mission-critical missions, increase its collaboration with the private sector and pursue capability expansion opportunities.
Jackson serves as a fellow at the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics and the U.K. Royal Aeronautical Society.
