Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has been awarded an $87.6 million contract with the U.S. Air Force to produce additional Paveway II Plus laser guided bomb kits.
The company said Monday it will supply guidance and tail assemblies for GBU-10 and GBU-12 LGB configurations under the follow-on contract.
Joe Serra, director of precision guided systems at Lockheed™s missiles and fire control unit, said Paveway II Plus is built to equip U.S. and allied warfighters with a direct-attack system to conduct air-to-ground engagements.
Lockheed manufactures the systems at the firm’s 350, 000-square-foot production facility in Archbald, Pennsylvania.
The company also offers Enhanced Laser Guided Training Round and dual-mode LGB kits as well as three Paveway II MK-80 series bomb variants to U.S. and international defense customers.
