Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has secured a potential 10-year, $92.2M contract to help the U.S. Navy modernize and sustain cross-domain technology platform the U.S. Navy uses to exchange data with other government agencies.
The company’s rotary and mission systems business will also provide program management, installation, security authorization, logistics and training support for the Radiant Mercury system, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Eighty percent of work will occur at various locations in the U.S. and the rest will take place abroad. The contract has a five-year ordering period, valued at $44.3M, and work may extend through August 2029 if the Navy exercises the option.
The service branch will obligate $5,000 in fiscal 2019 funds for the initial delivery order. Radiant Mercury is built to secure transmission of sensitive data within classified and unclassified domains.
