The Department of War said the cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price contract, awarded on Tuesday, provides spares, repair services, engineering support and depot stand-up activities tied to the integration of the Electronic Support Anti-Ship Missile Defense System.

What Are the Key Details of the Navy Contract?

Lockheed Martin will perform work for the sole-source contract in Liverpool, New York. The project is expected to be completed by February 2031. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane in Indiana will obligate $344,788 in fiscal year 2025 other procurement funds that will not expire at the end of the fiscal year.

What Is SEWIP?

The Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program is an initiative intended to modernize the Navy’s legacy AN/SLQ-32(V) EW system as part of the service’s Cyber Strategy, specifically its electronic warfare efforts. Under the program, Lockheed received a $113.6 million contract modification in August 2024 for full-rate production of SEWIP AN/SLQ-32(V)6 and AN/SLQ-32C(V)6 systems, following a potential $812.1 million follow-on contract awarded in 2020 to produce new variants of the shipboard EW system. In addition, the Naval Sea Systems Command issued a request for proposals in February for a potential $7.13 billion multiple-award contract to further support AN/SLQ-32 modernization efforts under SEWIP.
