The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) aeronautics business a $181.2 million contract modification to perform recurring logistics and sustainment work on F-35 fighter jets for U.S. and foreign military customers.
The modification covers ground maintenance, action request resolution, depot activation, operations and maintenance, reliability, maintainability and health management implementation and support and supply chain management services, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
DoD added the company will provide an automatic logistics information system and implement pilot and maintainer initial training activities in support of the Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, non-DoD participants and clients under the foreign military sales program.
Work will occur in Texas, Florida, California, South Carolina and the U.K. through February 2017.
The Naval Air Systems Command will allocate $132.5 million at the time of award of the modification.
