LMI Restructures Executive Responsibilities Under New CEO

LMI has realigned executive responsibilities across its leadership team as Josh Wilson officially assumes the role of CEO, a transition that took effect Jan. 1.

In an email sent to GovCon Wire on Thursday, LMI said the changes include Christen Smith’s appointment as chief revenue officer, Chrissy Cocrane’s move into the role of senior vice president of health and civilian markets, and Zaki Saleh’s transition to senior vice president of growth operations. All three executives previously held senior leadership roles at LMI.

GCW reported in October that Wilson, formerly LMI’s president of markets, growth and technology, would succeed Doug Wagoner as CEO on Jan. 1, with Wagoner moving into the role of board chairman following the transition.

Who Is Zaki Saleh?

As senior vice president of growth operations, Zaki Saleh oversees business opportunities across markets and provides functional support for growth initiatives.

He previously led LMI’s health and civilian market, where he was responsible for profit and loss management, project delivery and customer satisfaction. Saleh brings more than two decades of experience developing growth strategies for federal consulting organizations.

Before joining LMI, he served as vice president and general manager of Peraton’s global health business unit and previously held multiple leadership roles at Northrop Grumman, including chief growth officer for federal civilian, defense, intelligence and government healthcare programs.

Saleh holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Wittenberg University and serves as chair of Executive Mosaic’s 4×24 Healthcare Leadership Group.

Who Is Chrissy Cocrane?

Chrissy Cocrane draws on her experience across defense, homeland security and civilian agencies as she leads LMI’s health and civilian market as senior vice president.

She previously served as vice president of policy analysis and operations and director of health management at LMI, where she led engagement with the Department of Health and Human Services. Her work included overseeing LMI’s support for the Medicare Shared Savings Program under a monitoring, compliance and oversight contract.

Cocrane joined LMI in 2010 and has supported customers across health, defense and civilian agencies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Longwood University and a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University. Cocrane is a certified project management professional, scrum master and human-centered design practitioner.

Who Is Christen Smith?

As LMI’s chief revenue officer, Christen Smith leads market strategy and growth efforts across the federal enterprise. In this role, she focuses on strengthening customer relationships, aligning capabilities with mission priorities and driving growth in both core and emerging markets.

Before becoming CRO, Smith served as LMI’s solutions lead, working with customers and internal teams to shape offerings across logistics, operations and enterprise transformation.

Smith previously spent more than a decade at LMI in senior leadership roles across markets, accounts and programs before departing to lead Abt Global’s U.S. domestic business. During her time at Abt, she delivered evidence-based products for government and philanthropic organizations at the national, state and local levels.

She later returned to LMI, bringing more than 15 years of experience spanning public policy, data analytics and organizational leadership.

How Does the Leadership Realignment Reflect Josh Wilson’s Vision?

The updated leadership structure aligns with the company’s role in supporting federal missions spanning defense, space and civilian agencies.

In a GCW interview conducted around the time of his appointment, Wilson said LMI had reached a level of organizational maturity where senior leadership transitions are driven by internal promotions rather than external hires. He is the first CEO in the company’s nearly 70-year history to be promoted from within.

Wilson has emphasized that the leadership transition does not signal a shift in strategy, but rather a continuation of momentum built under Wagoner, a six-time Wash100 Award winner, who led LMI through its transition from a nonprofit to a private equity-backed, for-profit company and oversaw a significant expansion of its technology portfolio.

“So this transition isn’t about changing direction—it’s about doubling down on what’s already driving our success,” Wilson said at the time.

The executive has also highlighted LMI’s focus on delivering technology at speed, investing ahead of requirements and operating at the intersection of software and hardware to support national security missions.

Wilson is slated to deliver a keynote address at NASA’s three-day Core Flight System Symposium. Hosted by LMI, the event is scheduled to commence on Jan. 27.
