What Capabilities Are Added Through the Acquisition?
The Tysons, Virginia-based company said the move establishes its entry into the hardware domain, complementing its software and analytics platforms. LMI can now offer SPECTR, an end-to-end platform that combines customizable mesh tags, secure data collection, analytics, optimized firmware for extended battery life, centralized data and mission-specific applications for continuously tracking assets in near real-time across the defense supply chain, even in disconnected or contested areas.
“With this full suite of capabilities, we can deliver the scale, resilience, and adaptability the Joint Force demands. SPECTR is built for the realities of modern defense logistics in a way no one else can match,” said Josh Wilson, president and incoming CEO of LMI.
How Is LMI’s Technology Used by the Navy & Army?
The U.S. Navy and Army are currently using LMI’s sensor mesh technology to enhance asset tracking and logistics. At Navy shipyards, LMI’s cloud-managed Naval Autonomous Data Collection System delivers real-time tracking, automated alerts and logistics insights. The Army utilizes LMI’s sensors at its largest equipment return and reuse facility, Sierra Army Depot, to continuously track vehicles and high-value assets, reducing manual labor and travel while enabling automated inventory management.
